Bridges are a popular hot spot for paranormal activity, especially ones that have had some sort of tragedy on them or nearby to its location. There are a number of bridges here in South Carolina that are said to have had some strange occurrences, leading many to believe they're haunted.

Check them out below and be sure to avoid them on your next road trip - or go ahead and explore them if you're a paranormal enthusiast who enjoys a good thrill!

Ghost Creek Road - Laurens
Stories say that a newlywed groom was killed in this spot on Ghost Creek Road on the night of his wedding. Witnesses have reported seeing a white mist apparition in the trees by the bridge. Some say if you turn your car off and circle it three times, your car won't start again. We suggest you don't try this one out for yourself!

Cry Baby Bridge - Anderson
Although there is more than one "Cry Baby Bridge" in South Carolina, this bridge is located next to the new "replacement" bridge and is no longer open to vehicles. Witnesses have reported spotting a woman's spirit wearing a white gown on the bridge. When she is approached, she disappears.

T Bridge - Gaffney
This rail overpass bridge is said to be haunted by a ghostly woman carrying a basket. Her spirit has been spotted several times but whenever she is approached, she disappears.

Cherokee Falls Bridge - Blacksburg
Stories say that "Booger Jim" was hanged from this bridge in 1979 by his angry wife. She supposedly used jumper cables to hang him. Stories say that if you visit the bridge during the night and say his name three times, you'll hear him answer. Since his throat was injured in the hanging, it has been said that you won't be able to understand what he's saying.

Congaree River Bridge - Columbia
Also known as the Gervais Street Bridge, the location is known to be haunted for decades by a girl who likes to try and hitch a ride with drivers. Once she gets in the car, she vanishes before reaching her destination.

Old Bluff Road - Hopkins
There is a section of Old Bluff Road near Congaree National Park where strange happenings occur. Some stories say that cars stall for no reason while on the bridge.

Leroy's Bridge - Gaffney
The Gaffney Strangler, Lee Roy Martin, used this bridge as a dumping ground during his murders. One of his victims is rumored to haunt the bridge, and witnesses have heard her crying and moaning for help from underneath the bridge.
