This historic hotel was first established back in the turn of the twentieth century and operated as a luxurious railroad accomodation for town visitors. Those who have stayed at the hotel have reported strange occurrences in a number of the rooms, including an entity that likes to open and close doors.

  • Lovely stay. Friendly energy.

This was my first stay with a friend at a haunted inn. More than anything I first noticed the friendly, calm energy of the inn upon entering. Staff are super nice and the room was lovely! The town was full of really great shops and food stops. Pastry shop around the corner from the hot dog restaurant had these divine ham/cheese bread pulls. My friend and I attempted using my spirit box to communicate and we're unsure if we picked up anything noteworthy.. Think we were either not using it properly or that any intelligent responses through them could be chalked up to coincidence. Don't know if spirit box is worth the investment just yet but we're beginners after all. So anyways, both of us had pretty bad sleep overnight. I can't speak for my friend's exact experience but I had trouble falling asleep in the first place. I was rubberbanding between counsciousness and this half-sleep state where I kept hearing disembodied voices. It was mostly chitter chatter and I couldn't piece together anything. That could've been all in my head I suppose, but the next morning we came downstairs for breakfast around 8 or so. I just finished putting cream cheese on a bagel when I turned to go sit where my friend was. From behind me and slightly above my head I distinctly heard a male voice say, "Excuse me", as if I almost brushed by someone going the opposite direction. The voice was friendly, I'd even describe it as casual. It was like I interacted with an entity just going about their day as they would've when they were alive. On the spot I asked my friend if they the voice as well and described it exactly as I mentioned. They didn't hear anything at all. So weird! I think of myself as someone skeptical but I also have no choice but to have a little belief due to an experience I had as a child. I believe I've put up a wall to any sensitivities I may have due to my childhood experience. I hope visiting places like the Belmont can help me open myself back up to these kinds of experiences. Overall I'd recommend the Belmont. Super cheap stay (we paid 80 for a queen bed) and bonus points for the spooky experience.

  • Interesting experience

We stayed 2 nights, March 16th and 17th 2022. Both nights around 3am, our Dog started a soft growl as she was watching the ceiling. Her attention was fixed on the ceiling for several minutes. We petted her and she went back to sleep. I sheepishly inquired if they had paranormal issues and explained what had happened. I was told they do... Neither my wife or I was aware the place haunted. We will stay again when in the area .

  • Hard to decide whether it was a haunting or not

The only thing that I did notice while staying here was a few things falling off of the nightstand when nobody was awake other than myself my cell phone fell off the dresser or nightstand between the two beds as well as my wallet but nothing was thrown it just simply slid off the place is a bit off-kilter meaning out of level but I don't believe to the extent where things would fall off of the nightstand so something happened just not sure as to what caused it to happen did not hear any talking no doors were opened or closed definitely no explanation as to why my stuff fell off the dresser for no apparent reason
