The Old City Jail, also known as the Old Charleston Jail, was home to some of the location's most notorious criminals during the 1800s and early 1900s. There were more than 13,000 prisoners who were executed at the jail while it was in operation. Rumor has it that their souls never left the prison and haunt it to this very day. The jail is considered the most haunted building in all of Charleston and has been featured on almost ever major ghost television show.
