This beachfront bed and breakfast located on Mrytle Ave. in Pawleys Island is rumored to be one of South Carolina's most haunted destinations. The charming location was built in the 1840s and offers eight different rooms for guests to stay in.
The Pelican Inn is believed to be haunted by its former owner who was also a Confederate soldier. There is also a ghostly pair of dogs that are said to linger the grounds of the inn after drowning in the ocean while trying to save a young boy. Visitors of the inn have also reported seeing the apparition of a woman wearing a blue gingham dress.
