The USS Yorktown is recognized for a reputation that is historical, spectacular and supernatural. The ship is the namesake for an aircraft carrier that was sunk in 1942 during the Battle of Midway. It was also used in numerous films, including "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and "The Philadelphia Experiment. However, its most bizarre claim to fame is due to its hauntings. Staff members, police officers and visitors have all witnessed apparitions within the museum. Strange and unexplainable occurances have happened throughout the ship. The Atlantic Paranormal Society and TV's Ghost Hunters have investigated this haunted vessel.
